Steve, I have used Madstad windshields on numerous other bikes, but never on a Goldwing 1500.

There are far better choices for the Goldwing 1500...other than the Madstad.

IMO, you should have a lower overall height to the windshield on your 1500 Wing than what the OEM windshield height was.

I am a firm believer in looking OVER the windshield, and NOT looking through the windshield.

Check out www.wingstuff.com for options on windshields for your Goldwing 1500.

On this one: https://wingstuff.com/products/34261-hps-14-top-shield-only-for-gl1500

The guy that makes/sells these is only 10 miles from my house. Best windshields in the entire world...bar none.

BUT....he only has the TOP section of the windshields left available, so it really doesn't do much good if you can't get the lower section, which is the part that attaches to the fairing.

This one: https://wingstuff.com/products/33964-adjustable-19-27-windshield-for-gl1500

While it is Out Of Stock on WingStuff.com, you may want to do an Internet search for the "Bagger Shield", as it is the secondary option for you.

It's a two piece windshield, much like the one that I said was the best in the world, but this one is basically a copy cat, a slightly lower quality, but still good.

It gives you a dark base shield, that attaches to the fairing, then a clear top shield that can either be mounted UP, to raise the overall height of the windshield, or that clear shield can be mounted "inside" the darker shield, just layered on the inside of the darker shield, so basically you are using the outer darker shield as the windshield.

Both are good, but only the Bagger Shield is available, if you can find one on the Internet. Do YOUR usual search on Amazon, and see if someone has one left over.

Miles i think you are referring to the Windbender screens when you say top only. Firecreek has them in stock on their website.

I will call them later this morning to double check =)

Steve, yes, to all that. It is the Windbender windshields, by Firecreek, and the seller's name is Dayle.

I was a test rider for the original Windbender windshields, by the guy that originally invented them, and he eventually sold the biz to Dayle, that again is only 10 miles from my house.

"all the best stuff happens in The Great Pacific NorthWET"

Make 100% certain that you make it clear to Dayle that your bike is a 1995 Goldwing 1500, and not any year of the GL-1800.

Also, IF you have the options, do NOT go for the top shield...the clear shield...that is the tallest. You don't need a windshield that is SO high, it scrapes the telephone wires as you drive down the road (that is a jo0ke, none of them are THAT tall.

And...do NOT buy the electric adjustment option. Just have it be a manual adjustment, which I know, personally, is going to be extra work for you, but.....the electric option CAN fail...so go with the manual adjustment option.

Spend as little as you can on this.....as a full set of Windbender items can easily add up to lots of moola.

Steve, if it was me....this is the one from his website that I would order, for your bike:

GL1500 Windbender HPS 14" Kit, Clear

Price: 328.90

That is the full kit. It has a dark base windshield, that actually mounts to the fairing, and a clear upper shield that mounts to the dark base.

It is a manually adjustable windshield, easy to adjust when the bike is stopped, but...an idiot rider(me) can adjust this windshield up or down whilst riding at 80+ mph.

Don't be an idiot, like me. Razz

Oh, and Steve, I hope you did NOT order their tilt out bracket kit, to make it function like a Madstad windshield would.

There is NO need for the tilt out brackets on this Windbender windshield.
