I have aquired a Cozy rocket with the universal mount kit and the bullet mount kit and am now shopping for a suitable low cost bike for puttering around on secondary roads to learn how to operate sidecars and go for the occasional sunday drive.

I reviewed the postings in this forum suggesting suitable bikes have a full frame. Some of the suggestions were Suzuki LS650 (savage) honda 500CX. Obvously an enfield bullet would work as well. I'd love a bullet but cant find any good deals on a bullet they dont seem to depreciate. I've owned savages but dont like the savage backfiring issue. I'm not opposed to the CX and do see the ocassional CX for sale here in maine but there are tons of UJM's for sale that I'd also like to consider. Honda CB's in various displacements, Honda CM400's, Suzuki GS's in various displacements, Kawasaki LTD's in various displacements.

Can anyone direct me to UJM's that should work with the cozy universal 4 point mount kit? Also info apprciated about ones to avoid for lack of a full frame like the yamaha virago.

Middle '80's Yamaha XJ650 Maxims are a great tug for cheap.
Easy mounting, shaft drive Good Showa front ends, accessable frame positions and good repair parts availability. We've done dozens of the XJ's with from a 562E to the URAL sidecars and all worked fine.
