I was changing the leanout on my ultra classic/ TLE over the weekend and one of the U=bolts on the rear mount was froze, felt like it would shear off if I forced it. Probably going to have to cut it off and replace it, never been a big fan of U-bolts and was wondering if anyone has used a split clamp in this location. I saw one on e-bay this summer for an HD sidecar, but have no idea who makes them. The local HD dealer was unaware of them and the stock u-bolts are $36 each and I think the clamp sold for $75. Any input would be appreciated.

one of the members on this site sold me a block of steel with four tapped holes and bolts that replaces the ubolts

its a wonderful fix - i recommend it.

and cheap for what it does...

I bought one from the member here, it is a machined piece, very good quality and reasonable price. His name on here is gnm109. Thanks, Dave
