GL 1200 flat profile tires
Pardon my ignorance, but I can't find information on flat profile 15" rear tires for my tug. Yes, I have found out that I'd best not try automotive tires, and yes, I've found a source for front tires. (Dauntless Motors) But what about rear tires? I understand that these tires being made but me and Google don't seem to come up with a match. Thanks a bunch for any help.

You can machine your stock wheel down to automotive specifiction diameters and run a 145 15 on the rear of the GL1200. 15 inch is the only size that is significantly different between automotive and motorcycle wheels.
BTW we are down to only 31 of the 125 90 VR 16 twin tires and about 70 of the 125 85 VR 16's Once these are gone they are gone for good.

An option to turning down a stock wheel is to go for a true wheel conversion.
Turning down the stock wheels has been done sucessfully by some but it is essential that it be done in a way as to not create any stree risers that could make a crack begin and allow your fun meter to drop drastically.Due to the risks involved and the laibilty concerns many who have done this in the past will no longer do it.
Wheel conversions can be had from a few sources so you may want to check that out as an option. Harry tarzian of H.T.Wheels out of central Pa. has been doing then for a while and has done them for the older Wings. Typically the tire of choice is a 165R15 which is commonly available and not expensive. Reports of over 20,000 miles with good tread still left are not uncommon. I think with the tire these are stil going for a little over 700 bucks but you need to check it out for sure on pricing. Doesn't hurt to call Harry . HGis number is (814) 3549-2414. He is not online.

Hi Claude,
Reading your posts on this and other boards, I think your fingers type faster than your keyboard does. Or is that the other way around?? ;>) One thing for sure, the information in your posts is always excellent once one gets it deciphered!

Gee Tom thanks for the 'sideways' compliment. If consistancy is a virtue maybe I still have chance. Seriously I do hope to get better at this typing stuff..just need to make up my mind to do so.
Joined a procrastinators club a few years ago and never did make it to a meeting.(Really don't think they had one yet)
Help, drdoug, no message in your post
What can I say, but it is the macnine's fault. Not mine, I never mke mistakes. Now I forgot what the other posts were to have been about. Oh, yeah, does anyone make a tire (flat profile) to fit the 15" mc wheel?
Thanks again, Dr Doug
