Dark Side Tire - Opinion's
its NOT 74p its 80H
they these tires are NEW - they first shipment from the US mfg was a couple of months ago - so even the folks on the phone are uninformed.
the steel radial 500r16 is a 80H tire - 5.4" wide on a 3.5" rim
im running it on a 2007 ultra - not a lot of miles yet - but its very nice and smooth

opinions are like butt-holes,.....everyone has one,..and they're only good for crap!,...hehe,..I've been darkside on my 02 marauder suzuki/CF1 car for 4 seasons now,..155/60.15 BFG/TA,..it has 30,000kms, and looks new, wears like iron and handles like crap without proper tending to tire pressures,...as my car is frequently removed, peg scrapping corners still happen, but are not for the faint of heart. my rear wheel is an aluminum mag, so a tube is not required,..veteran mechanics and installers will tell you dark siding is a bad idea and unsafe,..they are correct !!! and I wouldn't recommend it to a rookie or un-seasoned rider. insurance considerations are also present in the case of and accident, as you now have a car tire on your motorcycle that was not designed for it,....I had to remove the wheel bearings before install, and balance it manually as the wheel didn't fit the install machine at the tire shop,...as a millwright,.. a mechanic and with 38 years behind the headlight,..all was acceptable to me, and I am happy with the results.....youself personally may feel differently???,..good luck and ride safe,..crawf.
Just ordered a R195/55/16 Hankook Ventus for my '10 FLHX rig. Almost 8" wide and I hope it will fit with belt clearance. I was going to go with a BridgestoneTuranza R195x60x16 which is 7.8" wide and has the same diameter as the OEM 180/65B/16 but the reviews were bad as far as noise and mileage were concerned on that one. The Hankook is rated at 50K.

Just mounted my 2nd Firestone F560 135R 15 tire from Coker tire on the back of my Savage tug. Got 6700+ miles from the first one and from the wear pattern in the tread I may have stretched and damaged it when I installed it. I had some newer tire mounting lube this time and deflated and re-positioned as often as needed this time to get it to mount up without any popping or stretching noises. It also balanced with 1/3 the weight. Reinstalled it and will hope it still is inflated in the AM. No signs of pinching the tube and it held pressure over dinner time. Was surprised when I went out this morning and the tire was in the doorway to the shop as Coker said they were backordered until Nov. I e-mailed a cancel message and bought a Dunlop K555 when on sale locally. Will have to try and sell it to another Savage owner as the bagger has a good tire on it already. Max
You can view the "tire" thread under "General Discussion". He returned about 4 pages and there is some good information there is about 16 "tires and links to sources for 16 175 Dunlop run-flat and a fire of Formosa, which can work for you.
