I have the opportunity to buy what appears to be a CSC Friendship 1 from a fellow that obtained it in an estate sale. No knowledge of what type of moto it was originally intended for. What would I need as far as knowledge and parts to adapt to my '08 Scrambler?

There's a Speedmaster with a CSC FSII for sale here with pix. The Scrambler is similar except for the high pipes.

Speed master and the Scrambler are completly different framed bikes. The Speed master uses the same frame as the America while the Scrambler uses the same frame as the T-100. We offer mounts for these two bikes as well as bike specific mounts for the Scrambler which are similar but not the same as our T-100 mounts. We also offer triple tree's to lower the steering effort on the Scrambler.
We can help you with what ever you need to mount this sidecar to your bike. If you wanted to go new our M72D is very popular on these bikes.
