Communication when riding

 We use a very basic Sena wireless intercom.  I don't pair my phone to my intercom, I let SWMBO do that with her phone if she wants and I don't know (or care) if our Garmin Montana GPS allows to be bluetooth connected.  She isn't interested in it either.  Our GPS is mounted in front of SWMBO, and I let her do all of the navigation.  When both of us worked for the USGS, she was a full blown cartographer and I only did a limited amount of mapping. As far as phone mapping apps MapsMe and Organic Maps have worked well for us across North America, Chile, Argentina and the UK.  Both are free and very easy to use.
