Car tire size
Good day all I have a 2006 Harley Davidson Electria Glide Classic with a TLE I want to start to run a car tire on the back of my bike does anyone know what tire size and what kind of tire I should use. I was once told this might be a problem since of the belt drive.
This has been covered many times, over and over again so if you look into old posts you will find lots of answers. In short, there are no good options, if this were a 2009 or newer then there are options, 2008 and back, no good options. Some people will try antique auto tires, not really a good option they do not hold up any better and perhaps worse then bike tires and are often a bit taller. You can have a custom wheel made up that will allow for a 135 15 automotive tire, however these tires can be hard to find. In the end, most people go with the least expensive tire that they can find. lower cost tires are often harder rubber and often last longer. Even if they do not last longer at least they were cheaper. Most people are finding with Harley rigs 5000 miles is about all they are going to get out of a rear tire.

Good info Jay , I have been racking my brain trying to find better tires for my Sportster with a 21" front wheel. This now makes one part of my life a lot easier.
I use Michelin Commander II tires and got approx 14k on the rear tire. The last tire change I put Commander II tires all the way around and expect to have them last at least as long. The most important things to pay attention to are
alignment and tire pressure Emphasis on tire pressure. Of course if you are an aggressive operator you will not do as well. I am operating an 07 flhtcu with an 09 HD sidecar
I have also been searching for a car tire for an 03 and have given up for the reason Jay listed. I am running a Michelin Commander II and with 12,000 miles it is just about worn out. Love the tire and will put a new one on with the hack and see what happens.
