I have a CA Friendship I that is hooked to a 1979 GL1000. I am a little curious about the suspension. I dismantled it and the torsion bars are good (not cracked, split, etc). But it doesn't have any give. It seems almost like a solid axle. At least when I bounce up and down on the sidecar. I have not ridden in it. The bronze bushing was pretty darn tight on the axle and and before I re-assmebled it I cleaned up the steel with some 220 emery and then 320 emery cloth but it was still pretty tight. I put on some grease but there still isn't really any give in the suspension. Anyone with a Friendship I that has any suggestions? Or is this just normal?

Check the bronze bushing. If it is spalled, there is enough corrosion growth to bind the suspension up.
There should be some free movement without tight spots.
