Brembo brake
Good Day,
I am reconditioning a Friendship III sidecar and am rebuilding the Brembo brake.
New pads, ect.
It's the one with 2 pins.
Questions:
Is there to be a spring in there somewhere that keeps the pads apart when the brake is not applied?
I split the caliper apart and found nothing that looks like it would serve that purpose.
Would anyone be able to photograph how the brake line is attached to the bike?

I can't answer for sure on the caliper you have, but every caliper I've seen had no spring to return the pads away from the rotor. The pads do need to be retracted but it's accomplished with the caliper's piston seal. The square-cut seal that acts to seal the area between the caliper piston and the caliper bore is distorted when the brakes are applied and the piston moves to push the pad into the rotor. When the brakes are released, the square seal wants to return to its correct shape and that force pulls the piston back to its at rest position. After that, rotor run-out knocks the pads away from the rotor. This actions is what makes the disc brakes self adjusting.

The brake line hookup will depend upon what bike you are working with. Some use a front brake connection and some the rear brake.

Just an after-thought, because when I re-read your post you said you disassembled the caliper. Normally an opposed piston caliper caliper is never disassembled except in cases where it is leaking fluid or the piston/s has become stuck in the bore. The pads can be extracted with out disassembling the caliper when they need service.
Calipers that have a piston only on one side have nothing to be disassembled except the piston itself. Calipers with pistons on both sides of the rotor have internal passages to get fluid from one side to the opposing piston on the other side. These passages are sealed using small o-rings between the halves. Technically those seals should be replaced if disturbed.
I don't know the Brembo caliper, but my 05 HD Electra Glide calipers have pistons on both sides of the rotor and there are seals between the halves. Today, that is the most common type.

I'm putting this thing on a 1500 SE.
The caliper has pistons on both sides.
I do not think this brake was ever used, so.
New "O"ring and seals along with a new bleeder valuve and pads.
I wanted to clean out the passages as well.
