Just did a 4 hour oild change on my rig. Had to remove heat shield and front header pipe, then the subframe. I disconnected the brake on the sidecar with the quick disconnect. I thought that was was supposed to preclude bleeding the brake. Am I mistaken? I never touched the brake when disconnected.

I've found that most (if not all) quick connect fittings will still let a small amount of air into the system. Some will self bleed some will need to be bled. Many high mounted master cylinders will self bleed a small amount of air. I always bleed the system if disconnected. Overkill? maybe, but no surprises.

Lonnie.

Well, after 4 hours to pull off the heat shield to get to the front header pipe to get to the bolts of the sub frame to get to the oil filter...then figuring a way to get the sub frame back on as it doesn't line up perfectly and needs the bolts to pull it into place. Then find out my brake pedal goes to the floor board. Fade into tonight where i find the bleeder plug on the side car isn't accessible unless you go through the spokes of the wheel. To find out that I need to roll the bike back and forth to get enough throw to tighten and loosen. To find out you cant roll it back and forth with someone holding the brake pedal down.....did I mention how I would like to meet the engineer at champion and take away his crayons?
