Just wondering--both JP cycles & V-Twin sell repo adjustable trees for olderHD's .I have 50's era trees on my 85 fxr with Sputnik hack ,and wondered if anyone had any feedback on using these repo trees? AS to quality strength or?? If I made the switch. I.d like to use a set of these so I could keep my presant tin &headlight. Case anyone wondered, my front end is a combo of 50's trees & late mod. Showa tubes & lowers. I know the tubes have different threads -but the top plugs can be had in either old or "new" thread. Any advise/imput or???? HDHank

Apparently your (late model) tubes aren't 39mm, or are you using other than a narrowglide front end?
V-twin and JP offer aftermarket parts for the older FL and EL sidehack rigs so if they fit they probably have the same rake specs as the early H-D adjustables.

Thanks Hack'n my trees are41 mm ,put 'em on back in '87- have old style tins-16"wheel flh fender. Just wondered if anyone had used either of these. As you know some of this repo stuff leaves a lot to be desired. Every time I find some original HD adj. trees (usually beat up or missing parts) they seem to think they are gold plated -"real antique"or made of unobtanium, with a price about 4or5 timesmore than the national debt. Would like to try a set, but not if I have to morgage my soul (probably isn't worth much in today's "modern" world anyhow. HDHank

I went another route with my '87 FXLR. After a $9,500. T-bone wreck I rebuilt it as a Springer.
Shown here with 2 different hacks.
