I am looking for a frame for a Champion Daytona 2+2 .  I have a Daytona now but with frame problems. I am in the SF Bay Area and will travel farther than I should to P/U what I need. Otherwise I will repair what I have.

Thanks for any help.

I'm on the far north eastern side of Utah (Roosevelt, UT), and have a trailer.  So if you need a relay runner to help extend that "travel range", drop me a note.

It's unlikely that somebody has a spare frame sitting around.

I'm wondering -- what kind of frame problems?  Once you remove the fiberglass body, any repair should be fairly straightforward for a decent weldor.  I'd suggest you start a new thread in

Technical/Mechanical Discussion

Be sure to post plenty of large clear pictures showing the problem from several angles.

I have bent the frame and have a very good welder friend that will help me if and when we reach that point. I am looking for that guy that has a trashed out 2+2 that wants to get rid of it.  May be easier than the needed repair.

I have been pushing sidecars for well over 40 years and did much of my own work before the internet so I have some idea of what I am getting into and just looking for an easier way to do it. I have two other sidecars that need attention but provide fun but there is noting like a Valkyrie powered S/C unless it might be a Rocket  III powered S removed link Head Explody

OK, I get it now.  I'd probably be looking for a complete rig at the right price where I could separate the Daytona then sell the tug for a decent price and end up with a relative bargain.  I know I saw one like that maybe a couple of months ago.

I'll try to poke around and see if I can find it.

OK, so this ain't it, though it's close to you.  If you got the guy down to $10,000 and sold the GW for $3000 that still leaves you $7000 out-of-pocket for the car.  You and your weldor friend can fix your frame for way cheaper than that.

Good luck with your search!

Found an old time welder with a sense of humor and lots of knowledge and we set out to work.  To make it short and sweet he had a third idea of how to do what was needed and $200 later I had a new friend and a proper tracking sidecar frame,

Now to put it all back together again.
