i bought 2 duro tube type tires in may
from american motorcycle tires. these
are 16"x5.00 with a car tread design.
they are wearing well and riding smooth.
i really like them and the best part is
they only cost $39.00 each!

i just mounted it in may. i would say about only 2000 miles.
no significant sign of wear. rides very well and the way it looks
i am expecting good mileage. maybe 10000 to 12000.

My rear tire is a 15 inch.
Ther originalwas shot in less than 3000 miles because of sidecar use.
I replaced with a 135X15 Michelin automotive tire intended for use on an old style Beetle VW. After 12,000 more miles it still had a lot of wear left but since I had a new wheel with new bearings and all, I went ahead and got a new michelin for the new one just so I would start this riding season with new bearings and new rubber. Six thousand miles later it hardly shows any sign of wear.
Excellent handling, better braking, better gas milage and slightly better top end. I would call it a good choice for a sidecar rig with a 15 inch rear wheel.
Downside, It is a royale pita to get it to take a bead. Several efforts, lots of lube, and 80 psi to get it to bead up. They both were that way, but once they did, They performed very well.

Like Wayne, I run a car tire on a Valkyrie. Can't say enough good things about the car tire. Great traction. Better ride. etc. Longggggg life.

I run a Dunlop Direzza DZ101 205/75/R16 on the rear of my VTX1800 and love it. E3 on the front. I have obtained a nice sidecar body, but I plan to build my own frame from the VTX out. I'll try to put a some pics on here as soon as I figure out how.
