If someone really wants a unique Caddo Lake experience, I suppose Billy & Dottie Carter would rent out their sleeping cabin on their dock out in the Cypress trees on the lake. It's a small screened cabin with no utilities that should sleep two folks. It's the little cabin on the left in this photo looking from the lake back towards land (from: http://www.spatterdock.com/amenities.html ):

Jena and I stopped by the Caddo Lake rally site this afternoon. Boy, what a difference a year makes: Last year it rained 10+ inches in the 12 days preceding the rally and the lake was flooding; this year it hasn't rained for 2-1/2 months, the lake is low and there's a burn ban.
The good news is Jay, our Friday evening campfire (think chuckwagon) cook checked with the Fire Marshall, and his open fire is OK as long as its a "cooking" fire. We also have an idea for an evening campfire as well.

I'm heading that way Friday morning, staying thru Sunday. Should be a good event. Post up guys. Who else is going? Void Void. Can't wait that long. I'm leaving this morning. (Thursday)
Avanell and I will be there Wed sometime. Games are coming along. Just heard from Butch Turner(Tenn. state rep) that he and Nancy should be there Wed. afternoon. J.R.
A little late for me to be asking, but I'm still trying to work out getting out there, so, is the Shady Glade "home base" for things like the dinner tonight and coffee in the am?
Uncertain is over for this year. Group picture had 40-42 rigs in it. Pictures later. Texas,New Mexico,Louisana,Tennesee and Arkiansas represented. I was very pleased with turnout. Had several kids in games as passengers. One lady that had about 3 days on her new Ural. Had 15 rigs in the games. AQvanell and I thank everyone that participated. J.R.
The best count we had was 42 "official" attendees and 21 rigs (19 in the forthcoming group photo), but there were a good number of folks visiting the rally site on Friday and Saturday. Thanks to all that came and participated.
The Friday evening campfire chili by Jay & Ann was superb. The fellows from the Lions Club not only cooked up the Saturday meal, but also participated in the games (with lots of smiles), and collectively selected Barry's Ural rig as the "Most Unique" and Dub & LaRay's white Harley rig as their "Pick of the Litter."
There were 8 ladies participating in the Friday lunch ride, which apparently was a first for a USCA/sidecar event. I hear the ladies really enjoyed the lunch fellowship and we encourage similar rides at future events (lunch, coffee, breakfast, ice cream, etc. -- shopping??) And Judy had about 45 miles on her new Ural Retro upon arrival; first one I've seen, a beautiful rig.
Special thanks to:
Avanell & J.R. for organizing the games and co-hosting the rally -- they were the first to arrive and last to leave.
Dottie & Billy Carter for opening up their home and business for our group ride -- and for the Caddo/Johnson's Ranch marina stickers for all participants in the ride.
Butch & Nancy for taking/distributing lots of photos to everyone.
Darline for the CD's of pics from past couple of years.
Hardy for the firewood and help with the boats.
And the City/businesses of Uncertain for their hospitality.
And thanks to all that participated in the games, contributed to rally expenses, brought cookies and furnished door prizes, assuring everyone would have a good time.
