2014 Honda CTX-1300-Deluxe
Just as an FYI, in case anyone is looking for a very good TUG to pull a sidecar around, I am contemplating selling my own personal 2014 Honda CTX-1300-Deluxe, that has some very good upgrades, and aftermarket improvements.
WHY would this bike make such a great TUG for a sidecar rig ?
Well, I am glad you asked that question.
This is the ONE year model that Honda built to use up the remaining drivetrains from the Honda ST-1300's, using the same V-4 fuel injected engine, the same trans, the same Shaft Drive rear differential. These bikes were the "cruiser" version of the Sport Touring ST-1300's
These engine were actually detuned to run at a lower RPM, and more of a cruiser speed, than the higher revving, higher speed ST-1300's.
They only came in 3 colors in the USA, and maybe a couple other colours in Canada or Europe. Mine is the Red...Red and Black version.
What is important (in the CTX-1300 world) is that mine has very high end suspension upgrades, with RaceTech suspension front and rear, and Gold Valve Emulators in the front forks, and this was all installed, and literally dialed in to perfection by the last owner, which is one of the owners of the Honda dealership close to me, as he is also a Honda master tech, and he builds his own suspension systems for all his bikes, and is a phenomenal off-road rider, so getting this high end suspension upgrade on a CTX-1300 is seriously a big deal. I believe it costs around $ 2,200.00, plus installation, so it is not a cheap upgrade....but it came with the bike when I bought it, and I didn't pay a dime extra for that, so it gets passed on to whomever buys this bike.
Many other upgrades, much better windshield, heated grips, grip puppies, Kuryakyn rider highway pegs, rear crash bars to protect the saddlebags, front fender extension, radiator guard screen, center stand.
This being the Deluxe model, also has Bluetooth sound system, with OEM speakers if you don't want to use the Bluetooth.
Bike has 45,000 miles on it, BUT.....it has been maintained to perfection, and like a modern Honda Goldwing, these bikes can easily hit 500,000 miles without breaking a sweat. It all comes down to, maintenance, and how the bike was operated....by a pro, or by a bozo.
The frame on this bike will be excellent for attaching a sidecar to, as it is not hidden under layer of tupperware, so easy to get to.
The rear wheel on this bike happily takes a Car Tire, and the front wheel uses the same size tire as a modern Goldwing, so....using our typical Bridgestone BT-46 motorcycle REAR tire, mounted onto the front wheel...backwards...is ideal for this bike.
I am not in a hurry to sell....more considering it than having a need to sell....but if someone were really interested,
I would sell it here for $ 5,000.00
Again, do not be afraid or concerned about the miles on it. As many of us know, there is a World of difference between a motorcycle that has been properly maintained and cared for...versus one that a bozo was not caring for.
THIS motorcycle I might be selling...RUNS PERFECTLY.....absolutely perfectly.
My point of this post is: This can be a very, very good tug for someone wanting a 100% reliable motorcycle for a sidecar rig for $ 5k.
Generic picture of what these bikes look like....not MY bike, but I can take 314 pictures, if anyone is interested.

I never even knew Honda made such a beast!
Inquiring minds will ask: Has the seat been upgraded to RDL?

The short answer is NO.
If I planned on keeping this bike, I would already have an appointment for Russell Day Long seats to make my 20th RDL seat.
And whilst I love the comfort, power, handling, and brakes of this bike....my real interests are in Sidecar rigs.
Therefore, OEM stock seat on this bike, on which I use an Alaska Black Sheepskin cover.
I have a brand new not yet installed front tire for this bike, which is the correct tire if it remains a 2 wheel motorcycle. This tire comes with the bike.
