Bring a Trailer - I give up!  (Owner's words)

1979 Kawasaki KZ650 with American Eagle Sidecar.

https://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/d/oxford-bring-trailer-give-up/7749183030.html

Owner tried to re-wire the fuses and now has a poor running bike with a regulator/rectifier that gets hot.  Just want's out.

Not great equipment but a low priced starter rig.  Comes with spares.

You'll need electrical experience and a multimeter (obvs) but sounds like he may have a short in his repair or just fried the regulator/rectifier during the repairs.

** the preceding statement is not based on verified facts only an armchair assessment.

That was one of the most fool prove engines on the market to that time and I always used to look for one of them...

"With patience and a club you even get the green (apples) down from the tree." (Costarrican saying) Means as long the engine is running, it should be savable. What is not nice are the clamp frame connectors, which usually tend to twist on the frame.

Good luck.

Hmmm, if not so far away I am tempted.. I started my Moto riding on a KZ650.  Was a great bike and I even broke even on it when I sold it.. That almost never happens.
