Would this be a good bike to hack?
I have been lurking for a while now and can't seem to shake this sidecar bug. I have a 2000 Suzuki Bandit 600S that I think might be a good candidate for a rig. I don't plan on a lot of passenger hauling with it, mostly just stuff. Short trips and around town, which is what I use this bike for now.
Any advice will be appreciated on what rig and mounts to get.
Good match for a Velorex Tour or other lighter weight sidecar in the 180# range.

OK, that sounds reasonable. I guess one, or one like them, can be found on this web site.
Then I suppose I need a Velorex mount which fits my bike.
I think I can read enough about how to install the thing as long as it doesn't require welding. In that case I would have a local shop do it.
It seems research is next.
However, anyone who has done this already is very welcome to add their experiences.
Great bike for a tug a full frame and good power. As Lonnie said a lite sidecar velo, american eagle or hitchiker. I know a guy who has a 600 Kawi with a Hannigan Conti who is hard to keep up with. As far as the velo or universal mounts I would fab a subframe just me. I have a 1250 Bandit with T Plane and a 600 as a solo
Would be a good candidate for a small chair. Follow Bills advice and do the subframe, you will be glad you did as opposed to "universal" mounts.

Wasn't it an older-model Bandit 600 rig giving Smokey the Bear a ride?:
