The front tire is an Avon - Side Car Triple Duty Tire

The rear tire is an Avon - SM Mark II Rear Tire

I will check out the triple trees. Thanks

Yes, I did the fly and ride for the KLR rig.

As to the ride report. http://sidecar.com/mbbs22/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=9393&posts=1&start=1 .

I, ahem, had quite an adventure.

I also live in GA, Auburn. I have a 86 Guzzi Cal 2 w/SCF hack on it full time since almost new. Sidecaring limited the last couple years due to electrical issues (corrosion from salt in IL). I can rig & set up sidecars if needed where I work at www.ridershill.com . Stop by and say hello w/ in the N GA mtns. I have a Neff earles fork on the rig which makes the mtns a breeze.

Dirt Dabber,

I've gone round and round trying to figure out how to insert this photo but think I finally got it. Thanks so much for posting your photo of your Sporty at the same place. Your posts, and beautiful photos, were the inspiration for me to make the 600 mile trip from Columbus with my son over the 4th of July weekend. We had a great time, and only saw 4 moving cars on the road while we were on it. That's quite a low number considering you ride through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and the July 4th weekend to boot.

We rode up Hwy 27 and then over to Cartersville where they were having an old car show. It was funny, we were riding around taking photos of the old cars as their owners were taking photos of us. Cool

Shortly after starting down the Heintooga Round Bottom Road

Trout stream last few miles

Something we weren't expecting to see

Beautiful area. Gotta like traveling in the shade in the summertime. Cool We sure need to make it over there sometime. Thanks for posting the pics.**

Great pictures Kilometers. Looks like you had a great time. I love that side of the park. Next time you are up there check out Mt Sterling Road and the area around Max Patch. Buzzards Roost is in that area as well.

Too Funny Dirt Dabber. I would have had a hard time plotting that on my map since I can't seem to break down and put a GPS ona Ural. 🙂

Harryho - you go into the town of Cherokee, NC and start heading into the National Park. Make a right at the beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway and proceed north for approximately 11 miles till you see the exit for Balsam Mountain Campground. Take the exit, and ride about 5 miles to the campground, then go another mile past that and you'll see the sign for the Heintooga Round Bottom Road. The whole area is beautiful and in an uncrowded area of the National Park.

Dirt Dabber - I'm going to have to try the other roads you mentioned...but may try those on 2 wheels next time. My 07 Ural, loaded down with what I wouldn't call a "lot" of gear, got 21 mpg going up and down the mountain roads at 35 miles per hour when the speed limit was 55. Luckily, we did the highway miles between Robbinsville, NC and Cherokee on a Sunday morning and the roads were almost deserted. We didn't hold up any traffic to speak of and were less stressed as a result. The Urals sure aren't an interstate runner which is why I keep thinking of putting a sidecar on my Sportster. 🙂
