Lonnie, I like the new Sportster rig.

Nice photo of the big horn Harold - thanks for posting - we don't have them down here.

Jon, I hope the KLR is a simple fix - sure looks like a good ride 'til the bike stranded you.

Sven, did Thomas get license?

Yupp, Thomas made it with 100% result and as only motorcycle applicant in the afternoon who passed the test. The same examiner who kicked me out 2 month ago as if I would be a strawling dog, this time had a better mood and congratulated Thomas for his manner to drive...may he stay without injures and never have a serious accident. Slip out or go down on gravel is part of the learning curve...(he still did not use for longer then 3 minutes any solo bike)...but if he has such good luck as I had in 34 years on rig and bike then he will be blessed.
(I whacked out of the ground a brand new water hydrant, broke my foot when jumping off my Norton in Death Valley, but barely touched only 4 times another vehicle with bike or rig)
I wish him an interesting journey through life.
Sven

PS. Sophie went on strike during rain and 1 1/2 hour stop and go, but for the exam she behaved fine.
It was the first time in Costa Rica a traffic cop pull up to us when stopped on the "autobahn". crawling spark and stuck float in right carb. Once changed plugs and dried out the engine she ran fine again. But I had to pull up a long climb with a limping right cylinder.

Just hearing the word Skillet causes to flow water in my mouth...
Sorry, a little tipsy for today. had a 16% Belguim Oranjeboom beer for to honour Jim Pettiti (Racewayservices, Salem Oregon), Lola and Jan Larsson (Larsson tools and Husquarna, Costa Rica), all good friends who passed by way too early.
Cheers on these guys who were true good examples to follow..

Muzzleflash- very nice Indian/Hannigan rig, the dealer near me put a red one like that together about 6 months ago. Do you have any kind of steering modification?
How does it ride and handle for you? Unfortunately I think I will be winterizing my sidecar soon, we have six inches of snow on the ground.

Did a few things on the Vmax car:

My wife hated the stock seat so I installed a boat one (a pain!!):

That boat seat looks like it has good lower back support. Good for you to please the wife.

Claude Stanley and crew at Freedom Sidecars did the install and swapped out the triple trees with the Hannigan easy steer trees. It also has electric camber control which allows you to change the lean of the rig to accommodate different road crowns. Handles well, on the interstate just set the cruise and relax, twisties and mountain roads take a little effort but it's not bad at all.Claude got the set up spot on. The only draw back so far is my fuel mileage went from mid to high forties to mid to low thirties.

Lucky you. My mileage runs mid-twenties down to about 20 mpg depending on the load, wind direction, speed, terrain, etc. When doing extended touring our rig weighs 1800lbs with us and our luggage on board.

My son Thomas passed the test last week Thursday... best of all wives insisted "What is the hurry to get the plastic?"...Monday we picked up that tiny plastic card and
...
since Tuesday the place in the garage where my Sophie Travelair used to be, is most of the time empty!

Now I hope to get at least once upon the time the change of a short ride with my dear Patrol.

first ride with all of the family on bikes:
http://es.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/spatialArtifacts.do?event=setCurrentSpatialArtifact&id=11541228
short and slow but way different from the cage.
we even were "able to hold pass" with 3 HD riders who had lunch in the same place. Turtle speed downhill.
Unlikely there was no coffee brake at my favourite restaurant la Lluna de Valencia...
another day. then.
Be patient Sven

Got the tree.
We put the tree in the wife's pickup. The tree farm wanted a photo for their Facebook page.
