You will get a lot of stares and a lot of questions.
All things considered, for your island and its' high speed thorofares, I would have chosen a Modern Rokon Trailbreaker with sidecar.
Or a dual purpose bike with Ural sidecar. Like this one in Kohala Hawaii.
I want to ride with my family. Physics argue against wife on pillion, kid in tub; safety argues against kid on pillion (he tends to fall asleep on rides), wife in tub.
If I find myself with some spare shekels laying around, I might just buy an older Ural and build my own fore-and-aft tub.
Look around, I have seen such tubs before.

More fun to build it myself. I've built two glass fibre boats, one alloy one, and reframed/replanked a wooden fourth, can't be any harder.
Besides, what could possibly go wrong? 🙂 🙂 🙂

Michael,
you are done? Or still need to pass registration...bla, bla...?
Having her home is pretty nerve calming.

I had it insured, inspected, registered, and licensed in American Samoa before we ever left to pick it up in Washington State, so we drove through the States with what is likely the only motorcycle with of American Samoan license plates to do so! (Had to have seperate insurance from another company when in the states, my insurance here isn't valid off-island).
No money changed hands, but I did a great sob story to OMV that I didn't want to be cited driving with an expired WA state registration on our way to California (all true, I was deathly worried that an LEO would stop us on some sort of pretext with a minor child in the tub, throw me in the falepuipui, and let the District Attorney sort it out).
I did need the original copy of the title showing the transfer, as well as the bill of sale, to get it past customs.
I also carried copies of all of the applicable regulations, for each state, in regards to children on motorcycles, definitions of motorcycles, and child restraint laws.
California was interesting, as it has the most strict child restraint laws in the country, but when it comes to a motorcycle, you can put a helmet on a new born babes head, duct tape them to the pilion seat, drive them home from the maternity ward, and be completely legal - go figure!

Happy rolling then and good luck with the rains...
I got soaked today coming back from town....enjoy the book of Beemerchef Ara since then in my rocking chair with an angry bobcat beside...Telling me: "That is my my observation post!"
Enjoy.

Went to a Venture mini-rally in Chaffee, NY this weekend. Won the scavenger hunt 🙂 Had a blast driving all over the place looking for places. Did the ice bucket challenge this morning before we left. Boyfriend drove all weekend. Kinda nice riding along, singing a song...... 🙂
If you stop putting anchovies on your pizza you won't have to wait with baited breath.
Like just about every day I drove mine. She now has over 100,000 miles on her and all but 5 states which I will get next year. Then go back to getting more provinces.

At lunch I left with my wife in the cage and got caught in one of the bad down pours. Funny we found a new bypass around the always jamed province capital Heredia.
When back home the weather was as if it never rained...
Picked up the rig, pulled my neighbor Martin out of his refuge and off we went for to register on GPS. He needs to spool down some miles as he just got a 180ccm after 35 years without riding at all.
Best of all we found out that after 22 years finally the last 6 km to the vulcano Barva National Park have received new gravel and maintainence.
Martin went down twice on the gravel, but had a good time...Anyhow he knew that he would get some bruises in his training time.
Sophie behaved excellent and didn't heat up at all on her climb to 2500m.

Good that Martin's lessons went relatively safe. Now my brother finally has driving license for lightweight bikes, so we will try to build his rig before winter. Now he has 2 winters done on 50cc moped rig, so it wouldn't be total new for him. But he also needs to practice.
I started to build air compressor for my workshop. 3kW motor, new 400l/min low-speed air pump and other work and safety parts. I went to local junk confectioner to buy some good condition air tank. In Poland, the most popular are automotive LPG tanks, and they are ideal in this application. Air compressors typically work at 7 to 10 bar (100-145psi) while these gas tanks has work pressure set on 16 or 20 bar, and probe pressure to 30 bar. I bought 65 liters one. Fits ideally instead of sifecar's tub 🙂 Panzer-tub, 3mm thick form very good high pressure steel.
Then I welded in some needed inlets and outlets, in right places away from original welds. At the end, we filled the tank with water and made 18bar (250psi) water probe for 30 minutes. SAFETY FIRST as always. Test passed:
Normally water probe is done at 1,5x working pressure. We have done it at 2.5x, where tank's original working pressure is higher than our probe. At the end i "XXXXXXX"-ed original pressures on plate, and done new marks. Were Probe/Work 3MPa/2MPa, now there is 1.8MPa/0.8MPa. Just because some inlets were welded in, and because the tank will be filled/poured more frequently than in original application.
15-28th of september I have some free time and will nor leave my workshop. Yeah, 2 weeks tinker-party! My rig needs some improvements.
Then we go to "Autumn sheepherd rally". I hope that my friend Michael will fix his sidecar before. Probably we wil not make brother's rig before, but he rides with us on solo.

Igor, your overkill might have one small back draw. Lot of machine, little storage.
in my case 11kw, 500l still pretty small.
Sometimes its good to retrieve back into the shop and shut the door.
Enjoy your free time.

Throughout the summer, my Triumph T100 w/Velorex is my car. Once again, did all errands on the rig, racing around some beautiful curves near Reed College here in Portland. Great fun to feel the car tire skipping on the pavement during a right hand curve. Makes grocery shopping so much more pleasurable. Then there McLoughlin Blvd where I can go through the gears and enjoy a spritely 60 mpg (the sign says 45 mph speed limit) but few follow it. Ah, the joy of the wind through my mesh jacket. Makes this 70 year old man feel more like 40! It was a great day.
We used to do our fast work in what once was Sullivan's gulch. Later called the Friday night home of the "Baldock Timing Association". The Baldock Freeway.
