Waiting For Motorvation
Can anyone tell me their experiance with Motorvation? When I ordered a Spyder I was told it usually took 8 weeks but things are real busy now maybe 10 weeks, it will be 13 weeks this friday and all I hear is "It's in production", I made the mistake of saying I'm going to Sturgis, can ship it to me or I can have it installed on my way to Sturgis depending on when it was done, seems to me my order was put on the back burner till I'm on my way to Sturgis, thanks for any input, anyone else waiting?
All I have ever had is GOOD sevice from Motorvation and I buy all ma mounting hardware from them. Right now they are very busy.

This is peak season in the sidecar industry and sidecar building is very labor intensive.
We get people wanting a sidecar and installation right up to a week before Sturgis and they are very disappointed when we say stock is back ordered and there is nothing available.
The planners ordered their cars last winter and are riding now.

I guess patience is a virtue that comes with age (not that you are older or younger than I).I bought my Spyder from Motorvation and it took a while. Remember, every one is different and every one is hand made. Quality takes time. You'll be pleased with the end result I'm sure. If you are indeed going to be in the area, have them mount and align it and test ride the outfit. It'll save you a lot of grief in the long run. I didn't. I had mine shipped to a good friend near Detroit who mounted and aligned the outfit and I'm 110% satisified both with the way it handles and the way it looks and it's a looker. I almost hate to take it anywhere, it always draws a crowd and I always seem to get first place at British car and bike shows...Mary and crew are at their busiest time right now and everyone wants their sidecar yesterday. I've had many long conversations with Mary and I believe she'd never hurry up any job to sacrifice quality, it's just not the way she does things.
Flip, I would love to see a photo of your rig. WHen I upgrade my bikes for the biz i hope to be able to go to Bonnevilles with sidecars.

Motorvation Engineering is a top shelf company that has an impeccable reputation for having a very nice line of products and excellent service. Mary Sontag and crew would like nothing better than to see a happy customer. I have comunicated a lot with Mary lately and, yes, they are very busy. No doubt that your wait will be worth it in the end, hang in there.
