Hello everyone,

I just got a sidecar rig this year and I really enjoy it.

I've read quite a bit and practice my skills everytime I take it out. I still like to take a training course if one is offered in my area. Has anyone heard of a sidecar training course coming up anytime soon in the New England area?

Check with these guys:

They may know of other opportunities as well.

Hi. I'm new here. I have been riding for about 25 years but I have never driven a sidecar but I think it's time. Coincidently I spoke to the guy at Ironstone but it doesn't sound like the course will take place. I too would like to take a sidecar instruction course. Does anyone have any knowledge of such a course? I live in New York.

You can also download, for free, Hal Kendall's material right here at sidecar.com. This material has been a huge help to many new sidecarists and sure was to me when I began. Much, if not most, of it is written by the co-founder or the USCA Hal Kendall. As a sidenote to the new members the USCA Logo which is diplayed in USCA liturature and everything to do with this club is actually a picture of Hal's well known Laverda /Watsonian rig from days past.
YES.....Read, take a course and then practice practice practice. Welcome aboard.

Note that there is also some good sidecar training material at the Motorvation Sidecar site. Go to Google and type in Motorvation Sidecars.
Good info and the price is right. Somewhat brand specific to a point but the info is really good.

All who sign up for membership in the USCA will be given the oppourtunity to receive ALL the Sidecar Manuals including the BVDM German Tanslation and the Illustrated Sidecar Catolog for free on a CD-ROM if joining from August 2005 to July 2006.

This is a personal effort by the Co-founder of the USCA to promote safety in sidecaring and to encourage membership in the USCA. It is not a USCA effort.

As co-founder of the USCA I want to commend the BOARD OF DIRECTORS of the USCA for agreeing that safety is something that is priceless and worth investing in. The rewards of this investment by us all is to be reaped by you, the sidecarist. I am happy to be a small part of this. You will reap these rewards when you send off your coupon to me from the Sidecarist for your FREE CD-ROM on Sidecars. The FREE CD-ROM is for New signups ONLY. Established members are welcome to purchase the CDs as always.

Yeah, I had spoken with Ironstone as well...sonds like nothing coming up soon. Guess they lost access to their prior space, need to find some new grounds for training.

Would love to participate in a New England class if anyone hears of anything.

Here are two sites you may want to post a question at about when there may be a training session:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/USCANORTHEASTREGION/

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/NE3WheelersClub/

Thanks for the suggestions.

I've both of the publications mentioned and use them to practice my skills. I've got a couple of thousand miles on the rig now and it is great fun.

I'd still love to take a course. If anyone hears of anything anywhere in New England please post it here.

Thanks all

Just curoius but in checking the website I noticed no reference to the Evergreen Saftey Council or the Sidecar Trike Education Program(S/TEP). Is Ironstone using their current cirriculium or are they an independant intity?

Thank you for the heads up.
