I have two questions:

1. Do the passenger handles on the TLEU also fit on the TLE? (People need to grab something other than the windshield when getting in or out of a TLE)

2. Is there any source for these other than HD (such as salvage)?

========================================

1. The TLEU handholds [P/N 88545-93 (l) and P/N 88546-93 (r)] would only fit directly if you had the TLEU armrest cushions [P/N 88496-89A (r) and P/N 88497-89A (r)] The armrests are shorter to make up for the length of the handholds. You will also be needing P/N 88565-89 (windshield) and the matching foam tape (P/N 58717-79).

2. As far as salvage, I seriously doubt it. TLEU's or TLE's are seldom found in salvage yards. It would be an outside chance.

I have the TLE sidecar which is what I wanted because I didn't care for all of the radio/sond equipment fitted to the TLEU.

If you bought all of the parts from a dealer like Zanotti's, even at a discount, you are probably looking at around $400. It's just not worth it, IMHO.

You could easily build a set of handholds that would install into the screws that hold the TLE armrests in place. They could wrap around the armrests in the front and just clear the windshield.

Happy Trails!

My TLE with the chrome handgrips was on a a 95th Anniversary Special Road King model so that may have had a one year option on the grips.

Did your TLE also have the radios? It's possible that they did buld a special TLE with handholds bu I've not ever seen one. It's possible that the dealer did that using the part numbers I mentoined. The armrest cushions and windwhield are usually only found on the TLEU.

It had armrest cushions but no radio.

Here's a shot showing the armrest pads and handgrips.

Yes, I see. It's possible that it was ordered that way or the parte may have been added at the dealershp but no matter either way.
