At some point someone one on this site said buying the sidecar is the "down payment". Wow, they were so correct!!

Car - 3.5 kilo bucks AKA kb
Install - 1 kb
rake tree - 1.5 kb
trailer hitch - .3 kb
offset for hitch - ??

and now a Mamaba reverse 1.6 kb ordered today --- tired of pushing in or out of parking spacing

Whats left?
lower the grearing
build an AC unit for the car - excuse me - for the wifey

but its well worth it -- met really nice people at the East Texas Muster /TURD event

at the ETM I had lost the key for the trunk lid -- bought a new latch from Hannagin and modified to fit - but the old key never showed up!!!!! 🙂

Art, I suspect your rig is harder to push around than my little rig.
And I was certain the missing key would surface once you purchased a new latch.
Glad y'all are enjoying the sidecar outfit.

I was joking with someone the other day once I get my sidecar all of sudden I have a rig worth more than most peoples car or truck. I would've had the same amount tied up if I would have bought a trike. I just eased the sticker shock for a couple of years is all. Always some thing to add to a cycle.

.

The smile on my wife's face, along with our puppy and my self, is well worth the cost or our rig.

Not to mention the many smiling people that stop, wave, and comment, on our cool hack.

We love it.....................

I'm sure that's the way it will be for us. Really can't wait to out Sibley IA and get mine put on the bike. I think with my HD Ultra I'll be needing to put a reverse on mine. Just looking forward to a new riding experience and lots of smiles! Ride safe Art.

Installed the Mamba reverse today --- install was easy -- got to the shop at 09:30 and all was finished by 1PM including some cool down time. Now the Harley tranny is being difficult by making it hard to find neutral.

Question: Is it ok to place tranny in reverse and then start engine and back up?

Mine is a Champion Reverse.

I start engine in reverse a lot, and cannot find any where in their info not to.

It is not hard to put into reverse while the engine is running, if you put it in 1st gear first, then neutral then quickly into reverse.

That's about the only way I could use the Champion reverse with a 5 speed Harley box. It won't hurt a thing as long as the neutral light is on. Just don't give it any throttle or you will be replacing shear pins and side cover gaskets.
