Sidehack for dog
I am thinking about a side-hack. after ruling out a trailer. However, I
am not interested in the complete unit. I want the frame and will be
looking at getting, building or having the body made. It will attach to a '78 R100 beemer (1000cc) My "passenger"
will be my Rottweiler (my lady friend will not ride). So, I want to
enable him to lie down or sit up, but with some protection afforded
him from road debris and weather. I remember from the 70's, while in
Europe and England, there were some unique hacks out there.
I am open to all (well most all) suggestions, ideas, thoughts. etc. 2d mortgage on my
house is not in consideration.. Thanks gang
SkySarge.
I have a Offroad/utility sidecar chassis for $1,295.00 with torsional suspension. It has a removable seat, a steel deck and comes with /2 BMW mounts.
Will palletize for shipment for no extra charge.

We make bike specific mounts for your bike as well as many sidecars, Many of our customers buy a sidecar for thier dogs, A cargo only sidecar for your dog would work however resale on these is very limited, you may some day find that you also want to be able to carry a person. Some of the options we offer, Our Kenna sidecar is only $3395 and includes bike specific mounts. You can buy just the Kenna frame, with all of the mounts for your bike this runs $2200, By buying just the frame if we have to ship the sidecar this will save you a lot of money on shipping as the frame can ship Fed Ex in 3 boxes. Some people will buy the Kenna and remove the body and have a second body if they do want to be able to carry people. The body removes with 4 bolts.
Another option is our M72D sidecar, or the M72DX (4 inches wider then the D) at $4495, again including bike specific mounts.
We also make a sidecar similar to the sidecar Lonnie is offering called the Enduro, With mounts this sidecar will cost you $3120
All of our sidecars have full suspension with either a Hagon or Progresive shock, They come with lights (the bare frame does not) and offer a brake as an option.
For years my daily driver was a 1978 R100/7 that I ran a Ural sidecar on at the same time my wife was running a 1977 R100S with a Sputnik sidecar so I know the bikes fairly well as sidecar bikes. The /7 frame is not up to running a sidecar with out a proper sub frame mounting system would come with our sidecars as the prices quoted, we can also supply the sub frames for many other bikes.
Our prices are going up the first of the year.
Let me know if I can be of help.

Lots of older threads here on dogs as monkeys. Unless your buddy is behind a substantial windshield you'll want to consider Doggles for his eye protection. You might even get a pair and start getting him used to wearing them before the sidecar adventure begins.
