SIDECARUSA IN THE HOUSE!
After many requests I'm here everybody!
Here to help with anything sidecar related!
Jon skagen of texas sidecar company and dmc sidecars of texas
Welcome Jon, your expertise is valued and your opinions always positive. Glad you joined 🤠
Jon, give us another post and it will get you past the firewall we have against spammers. Then you can access all of the USCA website.
This is all new to me. will this reply do the trick or a new thread?
You are now free to explore the site, post comments, photos, create new threads, etc. The sidecar.com domain is very popular among hackers worldwide which is why we had to set up additional protection for our members.
Welcome to the family
Texas Sidecar recently created a unique rig, the Janus 450. Could you start a thread with photos on that build?
Getting Profesional pics taken I will post soon!
Hay Jon

- @none yes Steve we are ready and I will be installing your new 6 degree trees myself
Your being here active on the forum is really going to be great.
It has been hard to direct people seeking answers about sidecar purchases . DMC was a major player and should still be. People need to know the product is still around and to expect even more now with joining Texas sidecar.
I don't mean to offend Jon or any of you old-timers, but could one (or a few) of you please write some sort of introduction of Jon and SidecarUSA here. I think it is significant to have him and the company represented here but not everyone knows the background and context.
As the webmaster I get many email requests for sidecar information and a good number of new people signing up for accounts. In their emails or profiles they put something like "Looking to get a sidecar", or "Trying to decide", or "How can I learn about...".
So for current, nontechnical users and future users Googling our website I would like to ask a few people to summarize who Jon is and who he represents (and where). Please write some information talking to new users who will be reading this thread 6 months or 3 years from now. And I think it might be better for some of you senior mentors to write this than Jon himself, as it might seem like a sales pitch or self-aggrandizing coming from him.
(Remember, all of these posts are indexed by Google and every other search engine in the world - not a bad thing, that's how people find us).
Thanks in advance, and welcome Jon!

I'll start...
Jon is the former GM of the old DMC of Buckley. He is a stand up guy with deep glass skills that worked to help resolve design/build issues I had with one of their builds.
He is now with Kent Silke at Texas/DMC, who bought the assets of the old business in WA. I won't say what I think of the old owner, but the new owner is a good guy, doing the right things.
It is great to see "younger blood" getting into building sidecars in the US. We all can moan about the past glories of some great builders, no longer available to us, but what we see Jonny posting daily are decent rigs that are being built at a reasonable pace and cost point. It is good for the industry to have another builder stepping their game up and willing to take on some more esoteric projects.
The hardware that I have from TSC on my rig (new A arms) is first rate and stout!
Welcome to the forum, Jon!
Hello all my name is Jon skagen!
I am a 15 year fiberglass/composites worker.
I started with dmc sidecars in washington as their mold builder/fiberglass and paint prep guy.
Also I have 18 years of welding and metal fabrication experience I graduated from bates technical in Tacoma wa and have held weld certs in that state.
I moved from the fiberglass shop into the other side of the business and have and do work in every department in the old and current shop. The only thing I do not touch is the upholstery.
I managed dmc sidecars llc in washington for its final 2 years before kent Silk bought The assets from the old owner and was generous enough to move me to texas and hire me as his GM to help him run texas sidecar company, dmc of texas sidecars, and now watsonian USA mfg and motivations old trailer line kent also purchased.
This will be 10 years building sidecars at about 200 units a year. I am a 33 year old sidecar builder that has 10 years experience I'm pretty sure would make me the youngest blood in the game.
That's a brief summary of myself for yall!
