I'm retired and would like to take my 4 year old grand daughter with me from time to time. I have looked at a number of sidecars and see a couple that I like. I ride a 2007 Road Glide and a 2000 Sportster. The RG is where the hack would go. The last hack I road was some 30 years ago, a dirt bike with a racing hack. I'll have either a Baker or Champion reverse installed. Does anyone have any words of wisdom?

Check your state laws on minimum age for a child. Laws will be based on solo bikes but may be applied to a sidecar outfit also. I think that here in Seattle a child must be five to be legal. (Not that you are in imminent danger of being pulled over with a 4 year old since sidecar outfits are in a sort of legal limbo for many of these things).

Thanks,
There are only 4 states with passenger age restrictions:
Arkansas - 8 and above
Hawaii - 7 and above
Lousiana - 5 and above
Washington - 5 and above

Most of these address a bike passenger astride the bike as opposed to enclosed in a sidecar and perhaps buckled in.
Sidecar specific laws are few and far between.
