Hi Jim,
A lift seat is IMHO is something you really should consider for your wife, there's 2 different sidecar sellers that offer them that I know of, one is Liberty and the other is Hannigan, there not cheap but well worth it given your wife's condition, I made one for my wife and it's a God send for her getting in and out, I just used a 12v scissor jack, something else to consider is URAL sidecar, they have a step in car with more of a bench seat than the others but once again IMHO need to be converted to a Hyd. brake, they have a mechanical one installed, I believe Lonnie can do this, also the URAL is heavy enough for your Harley, just my .02

Good idea on the scissors jack Shadow! Another source is if someone can find an actual lift chair. The motor in them is 12v and th emechnism should work.
