Sidecar tonneau cover
Hi everyone,
I've recently managed to get my Vespa sidecar frame rolling with a new axel, hub and wheel. I am now looking to add a tonneau cover.Β Doubt if there is a standard cover for my style sidecar, so I'm hoping to get guidance from this community about making one or sourcing a place to make me one. Attached are some images of the sidecar. If there is a traditional way to measure the tub for a cover, I'd love to hear the process.
Thanks, Josh

I would use CAD design. Cardboard aided design. Find a piece of cardboard big enough to make a shape you like that fits. Realize youβre going to have some sag in the middle. So make sure you get the snap caps or quarter turn caps nice and tight on the fitment

Josh....IΒ gotΒ this.
First, contactΒ Mark at FloridaΒ SidecarΒ Products,Β and search his website.Β If youΒ don'tΒ findΒ what you're looking for,Β call or emailΒ him.
Secondly,Β if Mark can'tΒ help you,Β find a local boat upholsteryΒ shop thatΒ makes Bimini tops forΒ boats. Call them, then takeΒ your VespaΒ sidecar rig to them, and show themΒ what you want toΒ haveΒ made.Β Since there are currentlyΒ no snaps on theΒ sidecarΒ body, haveΒ them decideΒ where toΒ put theΒ snaps on theΒ Tonneau cover,Β then theyΒ can install theΒ receiverΒ snapsΒ on theΒ sidecarΒ body toΒ correlateΒ with theΒ snapsΒ on theΒ newΒ Tonneau cover.Β
Cost....the entireΒ TonneauΒ coverΒ and snaps, all in, shouldΒ cost youΒ approximatelyΒ $ 100.00

A good friend has a boat canvas & upholstery shop in the Los Angeles harbor area.Β He does this sort of thing all the time.Β If you aren't close to an area that has marine business, an auto upholstery shop that does convertibles and pickup tonneau covers would be worth looking into.
