... how we gonna do this?....

Just give some gas and jump it off! Oh, wait, that's only on TV.

Glad the shipping experience went well. Come on spring!

Thanks for sharing the pics . Looks like a successful venture. -
How long before the snow melts?

Congratulations and Welcome to Yamak!

To Jay at DMC. Your info on shipping sidecar to alaska is misleading. The price you gave is for the car only, not the rig. You didn't make that clear so your post may have been misleading. Nuf said.

If you look at the question. The question was about shipping a sidecar which is what I answered. Nothing misleading about my answer. Latter it was decieded (agian follow the posts) that Yamak would purchase an entire rig that we had build for some one a while back. Shipping an entire rig is a different question then what was asked and in my post I said the last sidecar we shiped, not the last sidecar and bike.

Jay's emails look very clear to me. I suggest you re-read the posts.

I'd get that 2x4 with the nail sticking out of it, clear of the side car wheel before you let the clutch go and throttle up and take the leap.

I had worse challanges. I once bent a 6'prybar for to get out a machine that was 4' taller then the container....
With the crane we lifted out the whole thing and the as you took off the boxes walls using a chain saw
for to open the box as a ham tin.
After that the chiropactice broke my hip.....that aked more then the back ake from the bent pry bar...
- After taking out the nails with the snow and pallets make up a nice slide...
Juhooo.

Well Gosh, I really wish I stopped by here more often. I'm in Anchorage and I also have a Yamaha Venture with a Champion Escort. I bought the sidecar off ebay and had it shipped to Seattle/Tacoma via Yellow Freight and then used American Fast Freight to get it to Anchorage on the barge. Just tell the freight company that you'll pick it up in Anchorage at their terminal. The barge is inexpensive and Yellow Freight is reasonable. Pacific Alaska Forwarders/Freightways (they changed their name recently) is a viable carrier also. I'll have mine at the Anchorage Bike Blessing next week (May 5th). If any Alaska people need assistance or want to get together just contact me.

Wow, that is alot of snow. Down here in Florida, we had 5 minutes of hail in the last 10 years, that's it. I hope spring comes soon for you. That is a great looking setup.

Last time we saw this rig was when Yamak was taking delivery in Anchorage last February.

Thought you guys might like to know that the snow did melt eventually and Yamak was able to finally test drive the rig that he bought sight unseen (!)

Here's a pic Yamak just sent me. That mountain there in the background is indeed Denali--

Pic taken in Talkeetna about 100 miles north of Anchorage.

Wow - great pic and cool looking rig. Hope Yamak is having a blast.
I am sure they can't go anywhere without turning heads and striking up conversations.
Thanks for sharing and the update. 🙂
