Gregg,

I don't live in California but as a Veteran I want to provide help if possible. I suspect that any motor vehicle of any kind being brought into any State will need to meet the emission standards for the year it was built. It would probably be easier to bring an old Euro classic from the 70s and earlier than something newer unless the standards are up to California's for the year of manufacture. I think that an internet search of California's department of motor vehicles or whatever it is called might provide more details.

Thanks for doing your part for America.

If it was not sold as a US import having EPA and DOT certification (plus CARB certs if you want to license it for the road in California) you may end up with an off-road only machine without spark arrestors.
Gray market rigs are nearly impossible to title and license in many states.

This is almost as bad as asking directions but here goes: What the heck is an M72 Motorcycle anyway?

As Hack'n says a former Ural model 650ccm or 750ccm flat head engine (dnjepr or Ural? Anyway its a copy of Rommel's desert fox's Beemer.
If I do not mistake too much it is like the bike that got stuck in the river.

Have fun
