I an new here and have a few questions. First I have owned side cars in the past when the kids were small and we always had a great time with them. Gravitated back to two wheels when the kids grew but bad joints are setting in and the need for a third wheel grows stronger. Present ride is a 2008 Victory Vision. Is there anything available for this bike or would this not be a good canadate due to the motor being a stressed member? Any input would be helpful. Also I do have a Champion Escort car tucked away and would consider a diffrent bike for this car. Thanks in advance.
When I was at Hannigan I mounted up a few Visions and Crossroads. They make a fine rig with a lot of power, just make sure you have a sidecar heavy enough for it. It needs to be a well balanced rig. The Escort I would consider too light, better suited to a 1000 cc cruiser.
Greatly appricate your input into this question. Yes I was looking at a hanigan unit but am still undecided as to which way to go. If you were to go with a diffrent bike for the Escort car what would you choose? Thanks.
I have a Champion Escort on a 91 Goldwing, and am very happy with it. I haven't had it very long, but feel that it is well balanced. I think that the experts, and more experienced sidecar guys will give you better opinions, but I can't emagine a bike too heavy for an escort. Good luck with what ever you decide.
It seems the most popular sidecars for the 1500 GL's (850# plus) are the FSI, FSII and the Champion Escort, which is a CSC FSII clone.
Is the Victory Vision a lot heavier ot a more top heavy bike than the GL 1500 Aspencade? I wouldn't think so.

with ballast or a passenger,it would probably be fine. The main issue will be mounting as the Vision realy only has one good place for the upper rear mount, and it is midway of the bike, under the seat. makes for a long curved rear strut to connect.Hannigans has a mounting kit for this bike, and most of the other Victory models.
