Thought I would introduce myself Im Dave and I am working on bringing a CSC Friendship 1 back to life I have managed to get it broke down and have started media blasting the frame and the mounts that I have I dont know what the sidecar was mounted to or how long it has been sitting. I bought it from a guy who got it in an estate sale. It was part of the contents of a barn.
The Plan is to use my Kawasaki C10 (concours) for the tug. Jay at DMC will fab up a subframe for me when I get that far along(thanks Jay)
The why. I have no earthly idea other than I should have never sold the BMW /6 velorex I had

It has been suggested I find a different tug but I like the C10 and it is relatively easy for me to work on
At this stage Im open to comments on a tug or anything else in this project
Welcome David, a good tug is any bike you like and are comfortable working on. If it fits you, go with it.
The C10 has the power to pull a large chair as fast as you are willing to go.

Was there a reason given to support not using your Concours? I'm not that familiar with the bike but at first blush it seems to be an ideal tug.
The Concours works well however we do not offer any kind of steering modifications for it. I owned one years ago with a sidecar made by another USA company held on with clamps that they had the previous owner drill through the clamps and the frame and cross bolt them to keep them from slipping. Not some thing we would ever do.

No particular reason other than keeping the C10 for two wheel duty Maybe using an older GL for the tug
Well Im back Got distracted with some major projects around the house But I have made some progress the past couple of months Ive disassembled the sidecar got the frame and hard parts cleaned primed and coated with bed liner Jay has sent my mounts Should be here soon New bearings all around just to remove the unknown factor from things
I knew this chair was in bad shape but I am committed to it now that I am on the down hill side as far as finding all the bad
Box is my home made blasting cabinet I made to clean the frame and other parts
Feels like I hit a milestone tonight All the mounts wiring harness routine maintenance and plastic back on I think everything on the bike side is done Now to start the sidecar side of things A little more than I thought but Jay kept me out of trouble Thanks Jay
Another chunk of progress made Have the sidecar mounted Got the toe in adjusted Started with 5/8" toe in and got lean in and lean out close So I took it for a ride around the block It pulled to the right Went back to the drawing board moved the toe in to 1/2" and leaned it out to about 1/4" Took another lap around the neighborhood It amazes me how a small adjustment makes such a big difference Next steps Ill take it on my normal check ride lap and expand out from there
No interior or windshield but its driveable
