Yep but it is easy to get things inverted.

I continually have to walk away then come back and look critically to spot or hopefully prevent mistakes.

Still a good trademan pointed out 50 yrs ago that you don't tell a good tradesman by his mistakes.

But by how he fixes them.

Hence it takes me ages to do something like this.

Not to mention questioning the sanity in attempting it.

Not telling about my next fix up........

Mk1.

20241029 132154
20241029 132144

To mill something requires is a step by step process.

As I tell people I'm just an old boilermaker.

(Boilermaking and structural steel fabrication)

Funny even that trade name is obsolete.

Never made a boiler.though I still have my mechano steam engine.

Spent a lot of time tacking cleats onto beams.

Tack and smack.

Did one or two other things over the years though.

Think I may have to make a MK2 .

The sticking point is to be able to bolt the Ali securely for high speed machining.

So rather than shape 1st overall.

It's machine the more awkward part. (Up underneath).

Neither John who owns the machine nor I are machinists.

Though John with his engineering qualifications and years meddling with said machine is way further down that skill road than I.

Funny thing is he wants me to do the actual working.

What could go wrong?

Just when it was settled as to the way forward I was given a different option.

Tim said he would CAD draft the new triples then 3D print patterns and cast them.

Now that's a head spin.

undefinedundefinedundefined Racing at a snails pace here.

Tim drew this up. Next step is disassemble to get final measurements.  He sent this last saying he was called in to work (today), seems there's water involved. It's what ships travel on. So no idea when next.  Not to worry.

Thanks Drone.

It should a simple process from the phone.

Not at the moment though.

undefined

The green rectangle says attached successfully.

But the word undefined appears as it is above.

more likely a system setting got bumped by some other system setting.  New software, new hosting, firewall, our own filtering software - all of these things make for some....interesting outcomes.

Which reminds me that I haven't done some beta testing I was invited to join...
