2nd Annual Mexican Sidecar Rally
Last December a group or sidecar riders in Mexico held their first sidecar rally. It was so well attended that they’re planning a 2nd rally. It’ll be held December 4th, 5th, and 6th at Tamasopo.
Since 2005 I have visited Mexico many many times and never had a problem. However, I have never ridden alone, always with four or five other cyclists. Thus I’m posting this to see if there are any of you that would like to join us.
Sara and I would like to attend and would ride down from Reno, NV and cross into Mexico at Tecate. It is an easy crossing with none of the chaos of San Diego. As usual we’d ride down to LaPaz and cross over to Topolobampo and overnight in Los Mochis. The next day we’d ride down to Mazatlan and the following day ride up to Durango on the world famous Devil’s Backbone. From there head down to Tamasopo arriving on the 3rd of December.
There is a possibility that following the rally there may be a ride down to Bernal with a rest day in Xilitla.
The dates look some thing like this.
Meet in La Mesa on 25NOV
26NOV cross the border at Tecate and head for LaPaz to catch the ferry on the 30NOV
December 1 thru 3 ride to Tamasobo, the rally site.
If we were to come directly home we’d retrace the trip down. Cross the border on 12DEC.
If the group is interested in the tour after the rally it would add about two weeks.
