lift stands
Just saw this on Facebook and it looks like a great way to get a rig up off the floor for easier maintenance...

How 'bout that. Jena's Burgman is dripping coolant - just yesterday I was contemplating how to raise the rig for a look-see from the bottom side.

You can't beat this.

I sent a email to the business and got the response pasted below. A little too expensive for me, but it is a good ideal.

They do look interesting. I jack my rig up and set the tires on 2 foot long pressure treated 6"x6"s to get underneath my rig. Not quite as easy to get under but they are solid and pretty cheap.
Thanks Wingncamera. I hadn't received any information yet. Little pricey for me but I might build something similar./

me too, but looking at our local material prices the CR merchands and taking into account the labour cost the price comes into reasonable range. Costa Rican merchands make always a too big cut.
As the video is public access. Soon some Chineese will copy and flood the market....Have seen it too often. Anyway as long my machinery is still standing in my shop this will be a good training project for my son. The Willies, and 2 rigs are waiting.
The problem with the chineese equipment is often the only thing it has in common with real machinery is the photo in the catalogue!

Those stands are not al little too expensive.
They are a lot too expensive. I doubt they will sell many at that price.
I just did a quick materials list and costs to build four of these stands, but without the built-in lifting capacity. They would accommodate the jack's lifting capacity. THEN, add some 2 X 12's under the stands as you lift them again with the jack and the effect is still the same. Cost of the angle iron materials and wood totaled just under $80. Three or four cans of black Rustoleum will give a good finish, so, for under $100 yo will end up with four nice stands that will work just as well with far less expense, IF you can cut/weld some steel.
