"Leader of the Pack...?"
Hi Guys,
Well, several of us had a little 130 or 140 mile ride yesterday, out to Whidbey Island to Fort Casey and around the neighborhood, and the best part--other than the sunny, warm day--was the fact that everyone else was on a Harley, and there I was, with my little old 1977 XS650 Yamaha with the sidecar, leading the pack! (Vroom! Vroom!)
It's a nice twisty road out to Deception Pass and the Island, and the combo was just fine. I have about 75 lbs. of ballast in the chair, and without a passenger I was able to do the speed limit all the way.
Now, one might just think that I was leading because of the "convoy principle": the slowest ship leads. But I was the local--no one else knew the roads, and as a matter of fact, I had to slow down a few times so the Harley's could stay up with me! (It certainly didn't hurt me knowing the roads...)
Anyway, I just wanted to brag for a nano-second about the lovely day we had in Skagit County, Washington, and the wonder and glory of an elderly rider and combo leading a covey of Harley's! Loads of fun!
Barb,
They'll have trouble sticking with you on the Chuckanut Drive too.
Lonnie
Way to go Barb!
Sounds like a great day!
You earned braggin' rights. LOL
