No. Nothing serious. I just delivered my sidecar rig to its new owner. It was fun to see the young lady's joy at receiving the new ride. I remember that feeling. Well, That's easy because today I also plunked money down on a new ride that will become a tug.
I found a new, old stock 2014 CB1100 significantly discounted and in need of a permanent home. I added a couple of accessories and paid a deposit. Because of the holiday I won't be able to pick it up until the end of the week.
A few months of riding it solo to break it in, and check it out then perhaps add the car later this fall.

Yes I did pass on the website / forum to the new owner. I told her it was a wealth of info and experience for the rider. She also has a sidecar rider only a few miles from her. They have ridden together, her and her husband on their Harleys. They were going to get together for some riding soon. They live in a beautiful farm area along a river valley, not much traffic, paved roads, lovely country.
I don't yet have a car for the 1100. I think I'll wait for a few miles just to get the bike seated in and settled.

Jay, what is the weight of the DMC Classic Sidecar without the brake? Would it be a good fit in the 1100? The Classic looks too big / heavy. The 1100 is listed at 540 lbs. I think the over all length is about 76" or in that neighborhood.

Jim,
I recommend you to put always a brake on the sidecar. As bigger the s/car as more important for not to overload the front wheel and slide into the upcoming traffic.

Hello Jim,
that it the right way to go. The engine will thank you for to treat her kind. (I had that experience with the Jawa once and again after each rebuild first a few thousand miles/km as solo and then the engine would last more then when I hit the road right away.

I did change my avatar. I thought it was time. After all, notice the beard in the new picture of the bike. I have had that beard for the last three years.
I also updated the list of bikes to show the 74 XL350 and the 86 Gold Wing sidecar rig are gone. I suppose the 81 CB650C will also go, maybe next year. I am running out of room to store these toys during our long, cold, dark winters.
