Has anyone had any luck with an automotive rear tire that will fit a 1500 Vulcan.

I use a Dunlop SP RT5000 195 60r 16 with a regular 16" mc tube at 40/41 psi om my Vulcan. Just be sure to inflate and deflate several times to make certain tube isn't pinched. Read my "Vacation" thread several lines down. Over 4000 miles so far with very little wear. Speedo is about 3mph slow compared to gps. The "Darkside" has lots of info.

Thanks for the info, I run the same rig as you and have about 40,000 miles but have been using a Dunlop cruisemax m/c tire and only get about 8,000 miles. Read your vacation post. Have you tried the StarTron ensyme fuel treatment in your rig? It bumped my milage from 28 to 33 on the interstate. I use !/2 ounce per six gallons ( I have an aux tank) Bottle cost $7.99 for enough to treat 48 gallons of fuel.

forgot to mention that you may have to put wheel on with tire deflated. It's tight until you get past the swingarm. Also, i have a trailer hitch so you may have to use a lift and bring tire up from the bottom. I'll try some of that StarTron. Thanks
