I have a question on sidecar installation on a BMW - K1200LT.
The newer BMW bikes have an electronic centre stand - lifts itself.
How is the sidecar attached to the bike? Does it need a subframe - ie: the centre stand will be in the way etc? Or can the sidecar be mounted directly to the existing frame?
I'm planning to use it only as a hack about 90% of the time, but will need to detach for service - dealer won't touch it with the chair attacted. Therefore I'm looking to keep sidecar modifications to a mininium.

Figure on a full sub-frame with the K bikes and drop the sidecar for dealer service.

Yes a subframe is a must!! Centerstand may or may not be retained dependant upon subframe design.
