Was wondering other then a car or truck how many here only have a sidecar rig or do most all so have a motorcycle with out a sidecar as well? I now have had my sidecar for over a year but have not mounted it as I am censored I might miss two wheels. Most of the people I know that have sidecars all so have a two-wheeler.
Thanks

That is one of the reasons I bought my hack my old knees are getting bad and being I have been riding for over 43 years 40 years on Harley s none stop when they do give out I will still be able to ride.

I have a 2002 HD Ultra I bought new now with just a little over 86K on it and a year ago bought a used 2006 Harley sidecar.

Thanks for the input and please keep it coming.

I would love to be able to afford both a rig and a two wheeler but in my situation cannot afford both.
Thanks

I have both. A 1996 Aspencade with a sidecar and a 1999 Moto Guzzi EV1100 without.

I have no physical reason for sidecars. I bought one when my son was born because I didn't want to leave him with a babysitter. When he grew up I sold the sidecar and nearly gave up motorcycles all together.

The only time I ride the EV is to go get something for the Aspencade or if one of the kids are borrowing it. I discovered long ago that 2 wheels are boring. I have a lot more fun on the sidecar bike.

Wanna buy the Goose?

Another reason I bought the sidecar is I have a grandson that is six that loves to ride but cannot make a day of it as like most his age he wants to node off later in the day. I all so want to take him camping as well as his mother had twin boys about 7 months ago so when they get older I will be able to take all three riding. I would love to have another bike but being I have been out of a steady job for two years not in the budget.

The biggest thing I like about a two wheeler is the curves in the mountains.
Thanks!

YUP! Every time I get on a bike, all I think about as I ride through the twisties is what kind of sidecar I would put on this. Aside from my sidecar bikes, in the last few years, I've had a TransAlp, a GSX-R600, and a CBR 1000.

In order, they could have used a Ural Utility car, A sidewinder, and a Comanche for the CBR

unfortunately neither my garage nor my pocketbook are large enough to accomodate more than one sidecar outfit.

Bought my first motorcycle with sidecar this April. I wanted something different and also plan on traveling so the extra space will be nice. Now I just need to learn to drive.

Yep, my only experience as a driver was when I took the PA motorcycle safety course last summer. Never owned or drove a motorcycle before.
The boyfriend has an Electraglide and he loves driving my Yamaha with sidecar. Our first outing was the 500 mile trip home after I bought it in NC. We had a blast!

I have 4 bikes, all vintage Hondas (hence my forum name). In a few weeks, my sidecar will be mounted to my '82 Goldwing and will be my first sidecar rig. As of now, I have no intension to sell any of my bikes as they each have their own unique purpose and hold a special place in my heart.

When you pull a bike out of a farmer's field a few weeks before the elements would have turned it into just an orange stain on the ground, then bring it back to life, it's more than a bike, it's FAMILY!!

Thanks all for the input. Now I need to come up with a couple 8 foot straight edges. I checked into some aluminum 4 inch channel but that is way out of my budget. Have to buy a 20 foot stick and it was $160 plus tax. Thinking about using 4 concert blocks and a string. Any one ever use this to set one up? The local HD dealer who is 90 now has been driving sidecars for years matter of fact he still does and is what he told me to use as a cheap method.

I do understand as I have done this several times but sorry to say I sold all of them. I am all most 57 and ever since a child I wanted to tour the country on a motorcycle so in 2001 I sold most of my 14 vehicles to get my 2002 ultra and now only have 5 states to ride to and in then I will have them all but Hawaii on one motorcycle.

Don't waste your money on channel. Some fool will use one for a pry bar when you aren't home and bend it. String and blocks work fine, as do laser levels.
