I'm considering a flatbed sidecar

I'm a newbie here so please put up with my ignorance. I'll learn.
At the ripe old age of 65 I begin to think I might live long enough that adding a third wheel might become a good idea. Trikes leave me cold. They probably work very well but my third wheel will be off to the side. What I'm considering is a flatbed. Can you steer me to anybody who makes them? My searching hasn't found anything.

Riding with friends,
Geoff of WA

Try Jay Giese at www.mysidecar.com. He sells two different bare frames. http://www.dmcsidecars.com/Sidecars/sidecar%20frames.htm

I'm sure he could whip up a utility body for you.

Ron Campbell made a flatbed to carry his scooter.

There was a guy who came to the Hayden Lake rally who had a nice flatbed. I'll look for a photo when I get back in the house on the other computer...

Several years ago, prior to my buying my rig, I had considered http://www.tow-pacinc.com/ It's not as elegant as my Escort, but is easily removable so it does allow 2 wheel travel. They have 2 models, the plain flat bed, "The Value Pack" and another with a box, much like a hard car top carrier, that they call "The Side Pack. Hit the products link and scroll down. They start around $2600, so the price isn't too bad.

Most flat framed sidecar chassis can be converted just by removing the body and fabricating a deck. The body can then be sold if desired to pay for the conversion.
