I just turned 70 years young. I just put my Champion Escort onto my 96 Yamah Royal Star a couple of months ago. Yesterday, Billie Leonard, ID Rep. and myself spent 7 hours on a course learning how to ride sidecars properly. You can take the Idaho Star Program sidecar course for $75. It is a very intense course. It is 3 hours of text book learning, and then 7 hours on the course. You learn road skills, survival skills such as swerving, proper braking, taking the proper route around curves. It was very educational and I am very glad we both took it. Billie started riding a sidecar rig in 1983, but she said she learned new skills yesterday. I highly recommend it. Dave

Where is the side car course and any chance of a traveling course? I would love to get a course in Wy.

Closest sidecar training may be in Idaho.
Check with Ax Axmaker the director of the Star Program.
ax@idahostar.org or call 1-888-280-7827

Dave and I just completed the Star sidecar training program Saturday at Hayden, ID. It was a great class. Very informative and even though I have ridden with a sidecar since 1983, I learned a lot. The braking tecniques and swerving skills really improved my stopping distance. I highly recommend it. It is only $75 for a two day course. The first day is learning all about riding with a sidecar from a text book. The next day is a 7 hour day of being on the course and actually doing all the stuff we read about in the book. I can't say enough about our skilled instructor. She has a Harley Sidecar outfit and rides. The same course in Washington is $300.

And my daughter became monday sweet little 18 and Jolly Roger 2 will become her initial riding as soon she finishes the driving licence after college degree in a couple of weeks.
I hope she will not whack out more lights then she did already in the farm.
For myself I'll get me something more beefy with a water cooled 4 stroker
