I will be 54 in August, solo street bikes since 1972, and sidecars since 1992
My mother told me I would never grow up and here I am 79 years old and still somewhat juvenile.My toys got better :Yamaha FJ 1100 with homebuilt sidecar,BMW K1100 LT with Motorvation sidecar(the newest project),Jawa 350 TS 1973 with old Velorex sidecar,Yamaha SR 250 with homebuilt sidecar
I'm 45. just getting a sidecar for my motorcycle--two reasons: storage to bring stuff to work; and because I'm too much of a weenie to ride down our road anymore. driveway turns sharply to the right down a steep hill--and loads of nice soft sand. I dumped one too many times. sigh.
I love your perspective. I am putting a sidecar on mine because of my road.... mostly. but seriously it took me this long to realize that "cool" is what cool does. I had a hard time with the idea of a sidecar for a long time, but now... well, we'll see--I just bought it, and it's not on yet--but I can't wait!
Put some ballast in the rear of the car and be wary of those right hand turns.

Funny to read most of this thread once again....my commentas are a couple of pages before...
You know I seem to have that illness of the german scientist I forgot the name of.
So now 46 and thicker reading glasses because the telescope arms do not expand more.

Another crusty oldie here, 73 and counting. First two wheeler in 1949, [scooter], first m/c in 56, [Triumph speed twin, 500cc], first s/c in 2001....I'm hooked. Guzzi Eldorado with Watsonion Monaco.

31 and rapidly increasing it seems!
In the group of friends I ride with, I'm very much the oldest. It's good to see there's a lot of blokes in here around my vintage.
I'm 62, and not exactly tall or heavy, and built my outfit because I was starting to struggle with the loaded weight of a dual purpose solo,
especially in sand. There's no way I wanted to give up riding, or long distance touring/camping/rallying, so I've built an outfit to enable that.
I'll still ride a solo bike, just to get the 'fix' but it's going to be something light and easy to handle.
Got me sidecar put on this last weekend. Only question is..........Why didn't I do it sooner. Took wife for her first ride last night. She was very hesitant when we started but by the time we returned she was hooked. She didn't think we were old enough to need a sidecar (we are both 67). Guess what, we are and we are having a blast.
59, but apparently not old enough to know better.... :-}
31, still young though. 😀
I just turned 70, but feel much younger most of the time.

That happened because getting older makes you smarter. Dont fight it, enjoy it!
