thekid, Thank you very much! If you have a 562, you will most probably be invaluable when I get mine. I hope retirement is treating you well. I hope to give it a shot in a couple of years myself. I will be purchasing early next month. After the first cussing fit, I promise to contact you.
Lano I would be more then happy to help you set it up.I made more then my share of mistakes with mine! I'm sure you and your wife will enjoy it. I like a lot of riders have admired sidecars for years, but was upset when do to age, I had to give up the solo bike. Now I wish I had long ago. We now use the rig more then the car, and my wife now goes with me because she wants to,not only to please me.

a subframe is a good idea on these bikes, between the short rear frame and the exhaust pipes, there's not much there to get those "univesal" mounts attached to. i've done an 883 and a 1200 this year.we(hannigans) make a mount kit for the rubber mount sporster.
Hi,
Just got back from a 4,044 mile road trip to the Canadian and US Rockies and Sturgis. All smiles and burnt to a crisp.
The heavy duty Velorex's are the 563 Tour and the 565 tour. They share the same reinforced frame, wheel and fender but the 563 has the 562 classic roadster body.
Lonnie
Lonnie,
Sounds like you had a good trip. Bob and his wife just left my house, they came down to look at my rig and his wife fell in love with the sidecar after a ride.I think you will be hearing from them shortly.
Henry
I would like to let everyone know what kind of people you have on this site. If they are anything like "thekid" they are great. Showed up at his house, (120 miles) and he took my wife for a ride. She came back shouting "woo who". She absolutely loved it! Then Henry put me in the sidecar and took me for a ride. Then he had me drive the rig with him in the car. Talk about hospitality to a complete stranger. To top it all off, they fed us a wonderful lunch! Thanks June it was delicious. We had a fabulous time. The wife and I talked sidecars all the way home. We will be purchasing in a short time, and it's all thekid's fault. Bob
Don't blame me. Your wife told me about half way thourgh the ride that you had to get one. I'm sure your like me when it comes to a new toy and the wife is for it you agree.
Henry
Henry, It's a done deal. Talked to Lonnie C tonight and getting one shipped here. As you may have gathered, I'm not an impulse buyer. We researched this for quite some time. Think we made the right decision for our needs. Thank you and everyone else who answered this thread. Oh, we settled on the 563 Tour model. Bob
Way to go! It's good to hear you are going to be on the road soon.

Bob, Glad to hear you're on the way to become an owner of a rig. We are very happy with ours. Bet you both are excited. Henry
Henry, The wife is very excited. Just got back from the Golden Aspen Rally in Ruidoso. Of all the hundreds of bikes, I never saw one sidecar. The uniqueness of it all is what I like. Next year, I'll ride the sidecar up.
Bob,
Don't forget to take the coil retractor spring off the sidecar brake lever and toss it, or the brake shoes will drag.
Lonnie
Can do Lonnie. Thanks
We missed you by about 100 miles. Over Labor day weekend, my wife and I drove from Houston, Texas to Roswell, NM to get a bumper sticker, then to Santa Fe and back through West Texas and down to Houston. It was about
1475 miles round trip. My wife loves the escort sidecar. She sleep more than she ever had on any trip. We made two trips now. 1600 miles from New Jersey to Houston (bought the GL1500 and sidecar) and to Roswell New Mexico 1475 miles. I'll never own another single bike.
