Help
Comparing the 1100 BMW to th eURAL or the Enfield is not really feasable. The 1100 will do anything you want it to and probably more. The other rigs are limited due to their very nature. Not saying one is better for you necessarily than another but please be sure that whtever you get will work for your riding needs. Steve alluded to this too.
Best wishes and keep us poted....
Hey
One more time I would like to say thanks for all the help. Some of your questions have been as much help as anything. First off all three of the rigs I was looking at are out. Two are out because I would like to ride more than be wrenching, I can but will still pass and the other just did not feel right. It may have been the height.
Uncle Ernie asks, what kind of riding did I envision? Well I am retiring this month and live in Fla so I would like to make it my number one way of getting around. The part of the state I live in has a lot of people and not all of them drive all that well, so I need something that will be able to get out of their way. This means I will be doing day to day city riding. I also, when I get some time on the rig, would like to be able to grab the camping gear and head across the state for bike week and who knows maybe see some of you at the 2006 National.
So now I know what I am looking for starts when I hit the starter, small enough to get around town and with power to get out of the way and hit the interstate. Oh it would be nice if it did not kill me on those long rides.
This is what I came up with for now. A Honda Sabre 1100 cc to pull the car. I am looking at a used bike and can get one here for some where between $4 and 5000. Now for the car I have found a dealer for Velorex and like the 565 Tour. It will be about $3500 installed. I will tell the truth I like the dealer. I when to one other and all he want to do was sale me a trike. He did do one thing and that was make up my mine I do not want one. My guy will set up my rig for me and I want to be close to home for my training time.
Now where dose this all leave me? It will be best for me and my money if I do not doing any big moves till after the 1st of the year. In the mean time I have a lot of reading to do. I have βthe yellow bookβ and have down load two from here. To keep the cops off my back I am studying for a Florida motorcycle license.
Well that is the plan. Please feel free to poke holes in it that is the way I learn. Well that is a part of the learning the rest I will just have to get out there and ride.
Sounds like you have done your homework Richard.
Your tug has enough muscle for the Superslab and is docile enough for the byways and the hack fits it well.
All that's left is to get out there and start smiling.
