Can someone help me decipher this Harley Sidecar serial number. My sidecar manual is for the 99-05 model years and don't work correctly for this number. I looked online a bit and only get motorcycle numbers but not sidecar numbers.

1hd8skx14nt010171

I think this is what some of it means, but am not sure and can't seem to get the year to work out.

1 - Domestic

hd - Harley Davidson

8 - Sidecar

sk - shipped alone (not sold on a bike)

x - no engine type

1 - Regular introductioin

4 - Vin check number.

n -

t - Tomahawk, Wi plant

Rest - serial number

Thanks.

Have you tried putting the complete VIN in the NHTSA VIN Database?  https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/decoder/

Hold my keyboard and watch this! 🙃
