Brand new to the sidecar world. Where to start? I have a 4 and 6 year old that I would like to take to rallies and lots of camping (I live in CO). Have a 01 R1150gs and a 01 k1200rs. I would like not to make a dedicated rig. Have looked at many sites and like Hannigan and California two-seaters. Any feedback or direction on where to go from here? Thanks.

Be aware that if you use the Beemer for a sidecar platform (tug) a sub-frame will be needed due to the lack of a full perimeter frame on the BMWs.
This may or may not interfere with solo riding clearance. Usually they do limit the right turn lean angle.
With two small passengers you will probably want a larger (wider) car.
The Motorvation Formula II and Roadster Royale are wide seat cars that would fit well with the Beemers. These are quite a bit less bulky than the ones you mentioned. There are others as well but these come to mind.
Seat belts are easily installed in both for passenger safety.
With the wider car you will no doubt need a steering damper added to eliminate front end wobble which comes with adding the sidecar.
This is a start. Also check this site for Hal Kendall's books on operating a sidecar outfit or if you have extra coin buy the Yellow book. Pretty much the same information in a nicer package.
