GOT IT !!!!!!!
Well I finely put the third wheel on my Harley Ultra. A shiny black Ural. I still have to install a 3 tree so it steers a little easier, but its a HOOT to drive just like it is. I had Jay at Dauntless do the hook up. He lowered the rig about 3 inches, and put an 18 inch wheel, with disk break on the car. When I picked up the rig at his new shop in Enumclaw Washington I had a 400 mile ride to get home. Being new to hacking I followed Jays advice and ran with about 90 lbs. of ballast in the car. He helped me place it in the car so that it gave me the best possible ride through the mountains between Washington and southern Oregon. I am now riding without any ballast. The wife is able to get in and out of the car with no help needed. And you should see the smile on her face as we go down the road. The one thing I was not prepared for is the amount of time it takes at a stop to talk to all the people ( bikers & non bikers ) about the rig. I am making new friends at every place I go with this rig. It is amazing how many people want a "short ride" in the hack. I'll be putting the triple tree on the bike first, then a revers gear, than I'll have the car painted to match the bike. Do any of you know what the rake angle of the 3 tree should be for the maximum ease of steering, with the good stability of the rig not being lost?
Go for the 5 degree trees. You've already got about 4 degrees stock.
I used Liberty for my rig. World class products.
I know you've got the Siskyous down your way but where did you find the mountains between Enumclaw and Phoenix, OR? Did you go around Mt. Rainier?

Oh yes sometimes to get 3 gal of gas can take an 1/2 of a hour. lol. And they come back with friends.

Ride Safe
Hi Scott, congratulations.
I plan to pick up my new rig from Dauntless next Wednesday. Ural SC on a Suzuki V Strom. I was considering using my RoadKing, but it has quite a few miles, plus this was a good excuse to get another, sorely needed, bike.
I plan to ride mine home to Los Angeles, probably down the 101.

Hello Greg:
If you are in Wrightwood, there are a few sidearists nearby. Let me know when you are ready for a meet, and maybe a couple of us can get together and check out your new rig. 🙂
Gail, in Redlands.

p.s. I think you will like the 101. I rode the 1 and 101 to Bremerton, WA last year. So far it has been my all time favorite ride.. Never boring..
Have a safe trip. gp
Hi Gail, thanks for the reply. That's a great idea. I'll be in touch in a couple weeks or so.

Yep- lots of friends everywhere you go. I often hear my husband (2 wheels) saying under his breath, "well, they used to look at my bike..." Really fun to mess with them when they think it's old and been restored ; )
Glad you're having fun!
